Mark Hammond and Epiphany
'Mark Hammond puts the meaning of muse back into music. His songs think, as well as feel, as well as sing along the marrow of the bone. They are head-strong, heart-felt, and are a brimful of ideas and imagery. Uncomfortably honest or tenderly expressive, lively or lyrical, Mark means what he says and says what he means..love and loss, travelling and stillness, about self, soul and the savages down the road.or maybe just about the sunlight on a rain washed roof.. In any case, its best to listen, or better still, to listen again.' Peter Dale, Music Teacher, Reviewer, Composer 20/7/07.
Band/artist history
I began to teach myself to sing and play the guitar when I was 15. It took me a couple of years before anything came together. I have practiced so much in the past 10 years it has become my life. It is a great gift but requires so much sacrifice, if I had a choice I think i might try to be a Yoga Teacher but I don't think I do, I genuinely believe music is my calling and if I don't play and sing everyday, I don't feel alive.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I'm currently trying to book gigs in and around the San Francisco Bay area. Im only getting started out here really, but Im digging out some nice little gems to play at.
