I'm a 50's & 60's solo entertainer, live guitar and vocals, live band backing tracks minus the lead guitar which I'm playing.
Over the years I have devoloped my own sound and music style. It's been described as "Rock 'n' Roll with a Country Flavour".
When I can I'll be with a band doing much the same thing.
Band/artist history
"Taken From My Website"
Mark has been rocking for more years than he cares to remember. Working mostly in Europe, in all types of venues, playing as a soloist, as a duo and in bands, he has worked with many named artists such as 'The Searchers', 'The Comets', 'Brenda Lee', 'Chris Montez', 'The Dreamers' to name but a few.
Mark was born in 1965 in Rochester, New York, USA. His Mum & Dad had emigrated out there a few years earlier with his older brother Carl who was caught up in the Beatlemania which was sweeping the world. The Beatles were a huge influence on Mark and make up some of his earliest musical memories.
"When I was about 4 in Rochester,I can recall laying on my brothers bed half asleep listening to 'Here comes the Sun' playing over the radio. There was a garden party going on outside for the tenants of the apartment block, the sun shining through the open window and that song playing"
"I was also a huge fan of Johnny Cash and remember watching the 'Johnny Cash INVALID on the TV and playing his 'Live from St Quentin' over and over. The other big childhood influence was 'Elvis'.
They moved back to England in the early seventies and Mark was playing drums when he was 9. His mum & dad had bought him a second-hand set as a combined Birthday /Christmas present and he never looked back. Still into Elvis & The Beatles he was also drumming to anything in the charts and played in a few bands doing sixties covers.
He switched to the guitar in 1993, very quickly forming his own band as the rhythm/lead guitarist and lead vochalist/front man. This took him into the holiday camp circuit, Butlins/Haven etc. and onto the theatre circuit supporting named acts.
I have worked as a musician ever since leaving school and hopefully will be for some time to come.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Live now in the UK and play mostly in the UK amd Spain, but have worked in the USA.
Your musical influences
I like the old 50's and 60's tunes played with a modern aproach and a meaty sound.
What equipment do you use?
Gretsch, Fender, Mesa.
