areena was barely out of diapers when her mother realized that she had inherited octaves that could likely turn ears her way one future day.

That was the legacy passed on by her great-grandmother, a stage celebrity of her day in Australia. Also her great-grandfather, who was a renowned opera singer and brilliant pianist in New Zealand in the early 20th century.

Mareena's vocal tuition began in Las Vegas Nevada at age 14, with the focus of her early training being in Opera.

During her childhood and teenage years she learned to appreciate a genre of music that is not largely embraced by most young folk her age. This was the result of her dad's love of the Big Band era, with cozy evenings spent watching the 'Lawrence Welk' show with him, and listening to the great sounds of Vic Damone, Jack Jones, Doris Day, Dean Martin etc. - All of whom she now considers her best tutors.

On the other side of the coin, she became an avid admirer of Jeanette MacDonald, Jane Powell and Kathryn Grayson, from watching 'old musical' movies with her mother. This influenced her to emulate the unique and beautiful sounds of these famous singers, and she does so very well.

Mareena is now 23 years old, but her professional career began at age 17, when she started as a dinner opera singer for one of Los Angeles' leading 5 star Italian restaurants.

Since then, she has matured in her vocal technique as a lyric coloratura soprano, and tailored her extraordinary talent her own way, to enhance her various singing styles.

Mareena can be hired for performance at private functions and special events in the Southern California area, either solo or with a highly talented male vocal partner when the occasion calls for it.

Mareena describes herself as a Classical/Pop crossover artist, and her greatest modern day influence has been Broadway star Sarah Brightman, and so her repertoire includes many of her songs.

However, her greatest inspiration comes from world-class singer & entertainer, Mr. Michael Crawford, whom she holds in the highest esteem as the only modern-day male vocalist that she considers of unreachable and unequaled talent.
