Marcus B. King a Cleveland, Ohio native began his career playing guitar at age eleven. He was influenced by his two uncles and his cousin
B. B. King. By his senior year in high school, he had won numerous awards in music.
By his late teens, he played as a side man for the Grammy Award winning group The Dazz Band, Let It Whip.Band/artist history
Marcus B. King (b.k.a.) Bingo later ran into his cousin Edward Buddy Banks in a church parking lot. Banks invited him to sing and play with his band The Rude Boys. After a short time, he invited the members of the group to listen to some songs he had written and tracked in his home studio. Gerald Levert later heard these songs and took them to Atlantic Records and got them a records deal. One of the those songs was Written All Over Your Face, which won him a Billboard Award for Hot R&B Single of the Year. Marcus B. King who is (a.k.a.) Larry Marcus has also produced for acts such as Men at Large, Gerald Levert, B2K, and he has produced a song with jazz legend Grover Washington Jr. on it.
Through all of his success as a writer and producer, Marcus began to realize that God had called and chosen him to do a work for him. While playing for Prophetess Juanita Bynum, she singled him out to play by himself for her. As being only a background singer with the Rude Boys, because of this anointing, for two years or more Bingo would go to the lake to pray and asks God to anoint his voice and send him the right people in his life for his project.
Street Hymns, is the title of his project, and it is a positive recording that will awaken and arouse the Spiritual as well as the Spiritually handicapped, to reach people in the streets and in church.
