Maori Messiah

*2005* August Yo Im the Maori_Messiah im a hiphop artist solo and also do colabs with other MC's and beatboxers, big performances to come in adelaide rhino room performing before terra firma later on in feb and also march 19th carclew youth centre performing at BlakNite aight peace *Update* 2006 June I'm currently further pursuing a coreer in the music industry, both production and performance, only recently have i began to produce Hardcore Dance Music, but still will alway's enjoy making a nice mellow hiphop beat as you'll see in a few of my recent hardcore tracks. This year i've been invited back to the Blak Nite Krew both as a performer and board member for the whole 6 hour performance, selecting acts and so on. If you are an Adelaide resident i strongly suggest you make it next years going to be big, as the government has recently raised Car Clew Youth Arts allowed budget substantually we have made plans for a gigantic show. Later in September i'll also be starting a sound technition course which is being payed and run by Car Clew Youth Arts. Also i plan to master and gain a strong ability in the art of turntabilism. I've recently became quite an accomplished electronic music producer, but would love to be an established South Australian Hardcore Turntabilist. I love hiphop, it's were my heart lies, however since envolving myself in the rave scene there is nowhere else i'd rather be. To bring both Hiphop and Hardcore togeather will be my aim, i intend to have both lovers of old school hiphop loving my music, aswel as ravers. The respect given by the hiphop croud mixed with the love from the rave scene, a definate brood of people i'd love to be surrounded by in my life :)
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
*2005* August Do now, i do like it pumps me the fuck up *Update* 2006 June I'll be, in the above mentioned "Blak Nite" performance given the oppertunity to perform for 20 minute either solo or with who ever i chose, i'll be selecting 2 MC's who in my opinion are two of the best in Adelaide Chey and Rowan, both ravers, both hiphop'ers both fucking excellent guys ;)
Your musical influences
*2005* August Hiphop influences me cats like Grand Master Flash, Kool DJ Herc, Run DMC, Fat Boys, Suger Hill gang, KRS-0NE, Zulu Nation rep, tru hiphop not fucking pussy gangsta rap muahahahahahaha best emcee ever KRS-0NE Most anticipated battle old school verses new haha!! Kool Herc on the decks, KRS on da mic VS Dr. Dre on the decks and eminem on da mic MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OLDSCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *Update* 2006 June All of the above mentioned artists, at the time were really just names to me, i currently understand the difference between all genre's of music and even though i may not enjoy it myself, can appreciate a well made song, KRS-ONE will still remain my favourite MC Grand Master Flash My favourite hiphop DJ/Producer, Q-Bert is my Favourite Turntabilist, Morganics i respect greatly as an artist and a teacher i'd also like to make special mention to my most highly respected DJ H-Bomb, Probably one of the highest respected DJ's in Adelaide, as well as being as highly skilled as most international DJ's.
What equipment do you use?
*2005* August a mic and my comp for recordin' live performances mini disc player, speakers, sm58 buisiness standards you know the deal *Update* 2006 June I had everything there, however the minidisk player wasn't used as a recorder, i was just told it could be used as one, at current, i use Acid Pro 4.0 for mixing/track production Audacity 1.2.2 for sampling and editing samples to work in conjunction with Acid I would use Sound Forge but i've become so accustomed to Audacity's simplicity and tho it has only very basic fx apart from reversing and up-down toning, i prefur not to have any fx in the music i creat produce due to a lack of authenticity.
Anything else?
*2005* August The three L's to prove your love of hiphop Listen to hiphop Love hiphop Live hiphop Where are you? *Update* 2006 June Replace the word hiphop with music however i've been thinking quite philosophically latly and came to the conclution that if Old School hiphop had a physical form it would be an exceedingly daunting, however extreamly gental monk, he would be waring nothing but traditional, buddhist robes, and shall be waring glasses and he would appear infront of a black board and share amazing intelligence with children of all ages, sizes, religion, colours, being taugh of the message of peace, i'll never have anything but compleat tranquillity on the topic of hiphop, what ever is said negativly, never hurts, due to my cognative ability over all who do not see the truth. Once hiphop has finished it's teaching, all who truly understand shall proceed on the righteous where those who don't travel down the path of evil. The path which gangster rap is derived and then the teachings shall continue till one's soul has chosen the righteous path towards the obvious genious, which is only unlocked by the Old School, or petty thugery which is clearly all Gangster Rap is. I do enjoy jumping around to the odd Ganster Rap track, and damn i've got some excellent samples from them, but in the end i don't believe i could listen to G rap for longer than 10 minutes, as a musician, apart from just listening to the songs, i asses them. First the beat, a good mainstream beat which sounds good through a sub gets you paid, a good catchy chorus that 14yr olds can sing along to and a film clip that has more g-strings tittie's and ass than a late teen's net ball game gets you famous (eg. my hump my hump etc.)and a strong lyrical superiourity gets respect from artists, and lovers of the artform. I've said it before, and i'll say it again FUCK MAINSTREAM!!
