Greetings musicians and listeners , we are Man At The Window - Scotland's own Reggae writing and production team. Gerry Coogan & Kyle Robertson, both born in Glasgow during the swinging sixties, started working together in 1980 and after a wee hiatus to raise a couple of families of reggae-ites, have recently got together again to write and record the "Revelations" album. Now, having completed the initial demo recordings, we are looking for backing to release this reggae album beyond our independent limitations.
Band/artist history
Man At The Window has a 27 year history of skanking all over the nation. Still driven by young 40 year-old Scottish lairds of Reggae...(good looking too!), and playing unrivalled tunes enjoyed by millions from the Notting Hill Carnival to the Big Reggae Clubs.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
"Live & Direct" is our natural habitat; that's when we truly come into our own. If you haven't seen us yet, do so before you miss the ultimate live experience of your lives!
Your musical influences
Influences - Man At The Window have had the good fortune to have opened shows for many of our idols, including artists such as Aswad, Misty in Roots, Eekamouse, Yellowman, Clint Eastwood & General Saint and Steel Pulse. Sadly, we never got to perform with Bob Marley. Outside the reggae genre we love the production values of Steely Dan, the songwriting of the Beatles,Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson and Paul Simon, the genius of Stevie Wonder and so the list goes on. We particularly admire 47 guitarists, 19 keyboard players, 8 bass-players, twelve drummers and a partridge in a pear tree, all of whose names we can't remember at the moment. Another powerful influence would have to be a good woman, which nobody can deny.
Over the last quarter of a century dozens of fine musicians have been part of the Man At The Window live act, an act which has drawn praise from many reggae luminaries (including Jackie Mittoo, UB40 and Linton Kwesi Johnson) as well as rock artists as varied as David Bowie, John Martyn, Alan Parsons and the Simple Minds. The band has usually been based in Central Scotland but has gigged all over Britain and Europe. (Will somebody kindly invite us to play in the USA?) The time has come to hit the road again - so we'd like to hear from any British-based musicians who'd be interested. The work is waiting!
Record Label - yes please!
Jah Love, MATW 2007
What equipment do you use?

G'day gerry Thanks for checking out my page, and specifically Save The Children. It sounds about how it was recorded to me, but I did do some strange things trying for a one man choral take on it. I signed in under my Me and Freiends site just in case you wanted to check out some more of Claudio and me Reggea stuff. I think there are some on that not on SongRamp. Thanks again Gerry. Got your radio going while typing, and think I may plug in to the JBL %00 Watt bass box I call a PC speaker so i can listen while working outside for the rest of the day. Good stuff that revelations Cobber. Oh yeah. I just posted one built ojn the pentatonic scales we were talking about the other day. I woke Up This Morning it is called oh so originally.
