Magnetfisch
Magnetfisch are a Swiss electro pop band playing since 1998. The crystal voice of their singer Seline is accompanied by atmospheric melodies. Patrick's guitars and Timo's synthesizers are the backbone of the music either gently underlining the clear voice. Rolf's bass guitar is furnishing an energetic backup all the while.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Timothée Barrelet (keys, programming) and Patrick Scherrer (guitars) had been songwriting in another band (luckily disolved) since 1994 when they found Magnetfisch in 1998. In 2002, Rolf Althaus joined the band and has enriched their sound ever since with his bass lines and their particular groove. Seline Kunz became the singer in June 2004.

Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
For now, we have played in Switzerland only, including the country's major cities: Bern, Zurich, Basel. While we appreciate each and every concert for the contact with the audience, the "electronica meets poetry" events (together with the poet Pedro Lenz) are particular because of the reflectiveness.

Simple Minds for their energy, the Cure for the worlds they create, And also the Trees for their wonderful guitar parts, New Model Army for their political engagement, Air for their poetry.
What equipment do you use?
My old Yamaha PSR 6700 (bought it in 1992 and intend to keep it forever!) and a younger Yamaha Synthesizer, Dr Drum (boss) rythm machine, MC 80 Roland (Sequencer), Evolution Midi Keyboard, Akai S2000 Sampler
Anything else?
The second album of the quartet was released in 2003 : silence fiction (helvetic productions).
But this was the last entirely instrumental record, since Seline is full part of the band now. The new single "botox" was recorded in January 05. Again at our friend Luce's studio: www.luce-studios.ch
