The name CP-Unit was created to remember my little Brother Calvin Preddie, who was shot and killed in 09/04/1991 RIP, and that is how we came up with the name of the group.
We, DL and Madonez, came together in 1993 in Philadelphia PA, and started creating, singing and performing together, a few years later 1996, Shawn joined the group, and various other people came and went, we also had splinter groups like , Stigmata(Rap) 20/20 Vision(R&B) 2Da-Real(Rap) and Mad-Nice(Rap and R&B) but we always circled back to the 3 core members and were talking about creating a new project but after Shawn passed, it took a lot of steam out of the project, and just as we DL and I started to regroup, DL fail ill and then passed away. So I decided to make sure that the Music we had so much fun creating and performing would exist in the either keeping some of those memories alive.
I hope the music can bring you all some joy, as it did for us.
I am still creating and will add some of my new work to this page.
