Mad Horseman Project

Experimental & Rock Music | 4 tracks and 152 streams.

Mad Horseman music is all original and all instrumental psychedelic rock. What do we sound like? & Who do we sound like? When I sit back and listen to the music as in general, Of course, I have to have it loud. The lead guitarist has deep roots in blues music, which makes the music sound bluesy like Jimmy Hendrix, Robin Trower, David Gilmore even to Larry Coryell etc. These are all guitar monsters of course. The music theme reminds me of the album Venusian Summer by Lenny White. Or Tripping over God by David Torn. Little over critical and hypothetically speaking. Music is very energetically fused it has the magic touch from the 70‘s. The drummer sounds like John Banum for Led Zeppelin to Mike Clark for Brand X. The combination of ideas from each player made this Mad Horseman Music to be one of a kind Underground power house tripped out music.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
About the Band (Short Bio) Full Bio Check out http://madhorseman.com/ Mad Horseman Project M.H.P was first formed back in the Mid 70’s. Mike the lead guitarist, David Pletcher the drummer and I, Eiji Hoffman, on the Bass. Together we formed this 3 piece band. Our band never had much luck with singers so we became more and more of an experimental band. We were and still are reaching for new dynamics and new sounds. After many years of intense abuse, which I loved every minute of, the band members started to get burned out. Mike the lead guitar player said we have to give it a break. Although I disagreed, we experimented and played music for the last time that night. To make a long story short, we split up and went our separate ways. I got married for 14 years, later going through divorce. Blah blah blah.. I got back with Mike with the interest to regroup the band. I also just needed a friend to talk to. It is strange how things work out. So here we are, many years later and all for the love of music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
As much as I want to time and place has been little difficult to play live. Playing live is what we like to do but all of us are through playing in little bars. Hopefully real soon we can go on tour.
Your musical influences
Just like anyone else living in the 70’s, music was a happening thing back then. Most of us were influenced by fusion rock & Jazz not to mention the British Invasion. Music had a different meaning back then. The Mad Horseman music is a product from many that influenced us and perhaps gave us the desire to be a part of the torch. If you like Jimi Hendrix or David Torn you will love this.
