Mad Buddha is a Seattle Area rapper, songwriter, and producer/engineer. With just 5 years on the mic this kid is developing one the slickest tongues in the NorthWest. Take some WestCoast classic swang and mash it up with the lyricism and razor edgedness of the East Coast and a monster emerges from the rubble, this is Mad Buddha AKA Okey Doke.... Stay Tuned for upcoming releases, mixtapes, and local collaborations with some of the NorthWests premiere artistsBand/artist history
Andrew started rapping at the age of 17 after a life of merely listening and critiquing. Country, Punk Rock, Heavy Metal, then Death Metal, Classic Rock then Jazz were all on his playlist growing up but one genre stuck in his head above all else, Rap. Growing up in the country and suburbs of Seattle no one freestyled, no one battled, no one produced beats. About the only form of live music Andrew was exposed to was an acoustic guitar around a campfire. This all changed when Andrew and a friend started producing hip hop beats for fun around the age of 15, at first it was nothing but as the years went on the beats got better and naturally lyrics started to form. Andrew started to write rapidly one day, filling 2-5 pages a day writing on every coffee and shit break he could. From then on out Andrew took on the moniker Mad Buddha derived from the lyrics in a Notorious BIG song. After writing, freestyling soon followed and Mad Buddha was hungry to eat up anybody with skills at the local skate park and parties. Buddha stayed focused and stuck with his lyrical ability through thick and thin, rich and broke and has developed a unique sharp style that Seattle is anxiously waiting for. In the past couple of years Mad Buddha has also taken on the title of audio engineer, from recording himself and fellow rappers to recording and mixing for a few local bands he has acquired quite the ear for mixing, recording and mastering. With the expansion of his home studio and new artists to collaborate with, Mad Buddha is setting the standard and setting out the dominate the local hip hop scene. What equipment do you use?
