Machinate

Thrash/Death Metal From Milton Keynes.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
MACHINATE were created in 2003 with a core of Ed Sokolowski (guitars), Jason Craig (vocals), Stuart Healey (drums), Liam Wright (guitars) and Thomas Kelly (bass) under the name of Desolate. Desolate performed several gigs around the Milton Keynes and Bedford area and provided a blend of old-school death metal and modern thrash. Desolate gained a reputation supporting such bands as "Gutworm", "Detrimentum", "Fell Silent", "Seethe", and "Viking Skull". In late 2004 line-up changes resulted in Thomas Kelly departing from the band. Liam Wright stepped up to play bass, while Jason and Ed began to steer the band in a new direction. Combining the sounds of modern thrash bands such as Meshuggah, and Soilwork with 80's thrash, while lyrically the band became more socially aware, also addressing global issues. Due to the aura of change within the band it was neccesary for to rename themselves MACHINATE, meaning "to plot/to plan/to revolutionize", a name appropriate to the music produced . Having written and recorded a repertoire of new material such as the set opener "Martyrs Of A Lost Cause", title-track "Wasteland" and the anthemic "No Retreat, No Surrender" MACHINATE seek to expand their fanbase to promote their unique brand of "Brute-core"!
