Maarten Dreyer
I mainly play rock, from soft rock to hard rock. I also enjoy playing Spanish Latin Flamenco things, and Jazz. I don't like to play pop so much, it's so .. dull.. :P I write alot of my own things, but I also enjoy trying to cover stuff with my own improvisations to it.
One day I hope to find a good band to play in, and maybe become a musician or a band manager by studying at the Rock Academy in my country.
For now, I'm just a freelance guitarist/rocker who loves his passion for music!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
When I was 12 I saw a film once called Desperado featuring a Mariachi, and that's when I said to my mother, mum, I want to play guitar. I received a very very nice Jazz guitar from my uncle to practise on. At the age of 14 I started to take lessons, on and off, right now I take Jazz lessons although my heart lies with mellow rock. I have been playing guitar now for about 7 years.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes, but up till now only in front of friends or my girlfriend or my students, as I am a guitar teacher.
