This is the electric version of a tune I posted back in June '07. Update 3/08: Remixed drums and other levels.
Tabla For One Tabla For One
A nod to the theme song for the North American TV show 'Northern Exposure.' Updated version added (3/6/08) with remastering.
Afro-groove Afro-groove
Updated version of earlier instrumental. New drums and mastering on this one.
Tokyo Shifting Tokyo Shifting
Had scenes of contemporary racing and vid games in mind while composing this. The melodies feature an Eastern influence.
Again Again
A mix of rock and fusion with lyrics to match. This is a final version with EQ added. 04-9-07.
Gadd time_090607 Gadd time_090607
This was my first test-run of the drum program Leafdrums. I wanted to model most of the patterns and feel on Steve Gadd, but it came out sounding more like a simplified Dave Weckl kinda thing. UPDATE-Sept 6th (less reverb)
Three in Four Three in Four
Though I put this one in the Jazz Fusion category I think it's probably more rock than that. It grew out of a simple ostinato pattern on an old Zoom drum machine I have (the pattern starts the song, in fact). Would love to hear it with real drums.
Slappy Happy_aug07 Slappy Happy_aug07
This song came out of my using Audacity to alter individual tracks of a song. The bass line was played live by me then manipulated in that program. The song also features some more recent (meaning more in-tune) slide-guitar.
Lucinda feel_081107 Lucinda feel_081107
This song is my first recorded use of slide guitar. The form is three parts, though some lyrics could force another part as a bridge. The feel is based on some of Lucinda Williams' songs on World Without Tears.
