I liked most of your stuff, thanks for commenting on my page. We're working on vocals. We're trying to find a singer but if that fails we'll just have the guitarists sing. What really caught my attention was ur song Unknown. That is awesome. I also do guitarbattles, where you solo on a backing track and I was wondering if you would mind if I used that, while crediting you of course.

Luke,
i don't use an IM cuz i'm hard to get ahold of. but you can email me at bowdoinvictor@hotmail.com if you want.
do you sing? as i said before your songs could be pretty sweet if you added some good vox. but i feel the same way about my stuff. most days i wake up thinking i should quit music altogether and leave it to talented people.
the four non-home recordings were done at Oarfin Records for a bundle of cash. the others were done with my buddy's equipment - he has a pretty decent studio mic for vox/acoustic guitar, a few different amps, a compressor, Wave Lab for adding effects to the tracks/mastering, and Vegas pro for the tracking. the home equipment is very solid, but nothing beats a real studio...

alright, here are my immediate reactions to the songs...
i try - i am pretty undecided about it. half the time it felt a bit cheesy, though i suspect a good melody and lyrics could make it a pretty catchy pop tune. 5/10.
This train - i got into this one a lot - the chord progressions are sweet, the picking is ambient and interesting, and the flangey/cat sounding thing during the verses is cool. you could probably sing britney spears over it and it'd still be sweet. that said, i am again interested in what sort of melody/voice you would throw down for this. backups?
8/10
Powercut - this one was like "i try" in that i had to imagine different melodic ideas to see if i could get into it. i'm in the air about it also. the chords are ok, though on the whole it's a bit on the dull side. during the chorus i hear a melody starting with a high A (falsetto) switching down to an F on the chord change and back up to G. i dunno. 05/10.
year 3000 - sounds a bit like a midi vers
