Low Z
Based in Atlanta, Low Z has a smooth melodic metal sound that is sure to please any crowd. The members of Low Z have diverse influences, which they bring together beautifully to create their own unique sound.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Low Z music has been described as a melodic hard rock sound with heavy grooves. Imagine a Tool and Pink Floyd-ish sound. The original songs are dynamic, moody, and extremely well sound crafted. NO scream singing!
The Low Z sound has evolved nicely over the years since Chris and Joe met at the Gwinnett School of Rock. Before there was Low Z, Chris and Joe added Josiah and began gigging under different band names with different singers and bass players. In the early years they played places like The Somber Reptile and then moved on to play the Cotton Club. Once Colsen joined the band on bass and Joe took over vocals the line up was solidified and Low Z was formed. With the line up set in stone the guys began to manufacture a sound that was as fresh as it was classic while at the same time very refined but raw.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Since Low Zs inception they have played The Masquerade, 9 Lives Saloon, Dark Horse Tavern, Last Great Watering Hole, CJ's Landing in Buckhead, and Smith's Olde Bar. Low Z has also been featured on several local radio stations.
You can catch Low Z headlining smaller shows and opening up for national acts like Machine Head and Darwins Waiting Room!
