Love Above Law
We are a newly formed band starting in 2006 in San Marcos, TX. Love Above Law is Eric Morin: vocals; Brian Hosford: guitar; Matt Dunn: drums, Reagan Morin: bass. We are currently in the process of writing new songs, and trying to perfect the others. Hopefully soon we will have a good complete demo out, and playing some shows. Stay tuned for more, and we hope you enjoy.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The formation of Love Above Law started one night in late-2005 when guitarist Brian Hosford met drummer Matt Dunn at a small party at his house. Come 3:00 am, Matt decides to play some drums, and soon Brian entered the room and picked up a guitar. No words were spoken for hours, just free-flowing rhythm and melody. Realizing what they had, the two decided to start a band with a drive at creating an independent style drawing from diverse influences. They went through a few bass players until they met Reagan Morin, who just so happened to be in the neighborhood. His unique musical style added something special to the mix and eventually he became a full time member. They played day upon day, writing new tunes, and improving for hours. Soon, the three of them discovered how crucial it was to find another member who could sing lyrics and play adhering harmonies. Coincidently Reagan's older brother Eric Morin fit the part perfectly. With minds set on course, the four of them started structuring and writing their own songs in early 2006. Finally it was time to put a name to the band, and the answer was not far away. They collectively decided on the name 'Love Above Law'...the idealogy stemming from the drive to discover true passion and to create a contrasting unity...to uphold something more than the seemingly obvious path laid before us by expectations and restrictions. The upcoming Love Above Law played their first show on April 28th, 2006 at the house that it all started in. And that pretty much brings us to this point... Currently we are constantly writing music, booking shows, recording projects, and learning about each other. We believe there is so much in store for this band. We hope you can enjoy and relate to the expression of our origins and destinations. Please check out our MySpace page for more info..
