The initial sparks for were kindled in January 2005 following an 18-month hiatus from musical activity as Kyle finished a degree in World Literature and Cultural Studies at the in . Kyle continued production in the coastal college town through the following summer before relocating to . was completed in June 2006 and sent to L.A. for mastering by , , , , and many other labels and artists. The album has gained a dedicated following among college radio DJs, claiming numerous positions on weekly top 30 charts as well as several top 10 positions for the RPM category. and plans to start work on a full length album later this year.
