lolligagger

lolligagger was an all original band I played in during the late 90's. I always felt our songwriting was adventurous, hence this listing in the progressive rock section.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I was long time friends with the Marsh brothers who were playing covers at the time and needed a bass player. I picked up some gear from the pawn shops, we started writing originals and the rest is history...actually not quite. We spent a couple of years trying to find a guitar player who could keep up with Kevin and a vocalist who could actually sing in tune...lots of auditions. We were really lucky to find Michael Glenn and Patrick Gilmore, who gelled the group together while bringing their very own distinct musical stylings to the table. We wrote a lot of songs, sipped an occasional home made malt liquor beverage and shared a lot of good times. Recording killed us. We spent a whack of money at a prominent studio in Edmonton that disappeared in the dark of night (along with our tapes), and by the time we re-grouped to record at Swansonic (awesome owner/operator/engineer) we were already going in different directions - literally. Europe, Cuba, California, Vancouver and Calgary were calling, so that was pretty much it! Patrick Gilmore - Lead Vocals and backing vocals Michael Glenn - Acoustic Rhythm & Noisey Leads Kevin Marsh - Electric Rhythm, Flashy Leads and backing vocals Gerald Marsh - Drums & other fun things to hit bang and shake Dale Shafer - Bass Guitar & backing vocals
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We had a ton of fun playing live...there was a few really good rooms back in the day that are no longer around
