Well, I've been playing music for seven or eight years. I've really just amassed everything that I do over that period of time in a constant shuffling of priorities and tastes and styles and all sorts of molding factors. I hope to continue molding myself until I'm gone.Have you performed in front of an audience?I usually play in coffee shops and stuff like that. Open mic nights. Simple.
Your musical influences
The two influences that have the most effect on the actual sound and methodology of my music are Jason Mraz and Dallas Green (City & Colour). No matter what I do, I cannot get away from how much I respect these guys as artists, and it always permeates through into my music. Other influences are pretty typical, I guess. The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, a lot of the old Woodstock era musicians. More modern influences would include John Mayer, Justin Nozuka, James Vincent McMorrow, Mat Kearney (LOVE Mat Kearney), and a lot of singer/songwriter types of the day. I really just love taking all of the techniques and lyricism and vocal structures and rhythm of these guys and just dissecting it out, finding ways to apply it to my own approach. Hopefully I'll get to meet these guys eventually, though that's pretty sketchy. And I hope to be someone else's influence someday.What equipment do you use?
Everything I've recorded so far has been nothing but myself, a microphone, GarageBand, and an old Yamaha F-210 that's been beaten to hell and back.Anything else?
