LOCUS (the real ones from Texas)
This is a groove that can set off volcanic vibrations and cause the seas of people to erupt into pit frenzies.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
In the beginning........1999 AD, a group called ZEROSIGNAL arose from the ashes of a town called WACO. This band consisted of John (bass), Bobby (drums), Mark (guitar), and Dan (vocals and guitar). They started out by kicking open the doors of local venues that would not allow this hard crushing sound in their buildings. The local scene of Waco was developing and no one could deny its intense affect on local musicians and their fans. The band developed a following that would pack clubs and influence a spurt of new local acts. Due to the wild masses of people that the group would bring, they were banned from nearly every club in WACO, except CLUB VIRTU (where moshing was permitted). After the guys changed their name to LOCUS. They began to spread the music to cities such as Dallas, Mexia, Killeen, Harker Heights, and Austin. During their quests for penetrating the masses of Dallas, tragedy struck the group. Dan Rowan was killed in a car accident, which affected the lives of over 700 people. Dan's departure from Locus was not easy for Mark, John, and Bobby, but they were fed the need to keep the music alive. While searching for new members they found Matt from Niche to fill for guitar. Matt's style comes from a deep infectious sound of Sepultura, Pantera, and Mr. Bungle. Matt is one with Locus, and no one can match or understand the style intended for Locus except Matt.Since the joining of Matt, Locus resurfaced with an outstanding performance at this year's third annual Rockstock. After receiving the highest appreciation from 600 of Locus's fans that night, the band continues to push forward and play shows inside and outside their hometown. After achieving past goals, the guys are planning for new horizons and breaking into the industry with all the power of their fan support and music.
