Linkz from PH Legion
I'm a rapper from Upper Michigan. I been rapping since around 2001-2002.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started out solo as LINKZ, then started the group Poetik Hustlaz, we broke up but i kept the name and started a second group under the same name, we broke up and now i'm doing a solo Album as Linkz from PH Legion, i also go by Kalamity Kid (changed Poetik Hustlaz into PH Legion)
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I have done around 10 live performances. Some solo and some with my hip hop group and 2 with the Meticulous group from Lower Michigan. But the majority of the shows i've done we're in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan, mainly in Marquette and at the NMU campus.
Your musical influences
One of my main musical influences is Meticulous, They are an underground hip hop group from lower Michigan who have family in the town i grew up in in Upper Michigan. I grew up listening to them and they actually played a huge role in me making my own studio. After that i'm a huge 90's hiphop fan, from warren g, tupac, biggy, snoop, dr dre, nas, jay z, eminem and many more have been a big influence on me.
What equipment do you use?
I use a PC with Sonar 8, and Sony Sound Forge software. Added a bad ass external sound card, and a bheringer mixer w/ a condensor mic
