Ode to Lav-Lav Ode to Lav-Lav
Harry Potter inspired song about Lavender Brown, from Ron Weasley's perspective
On a Raindrop On a Raindrop
It's a Big World Out There It's a Big World Out There
Modern Lullaby Modern Lullaby
This song was really quite fun...I used my sister's glockinspiel, my mini-Bop-It, chopsticks, scissors, acoustic guitar, a box of Nerds, the sounds of my cats eating, and I think some other random thing.
Storms Storms
Sorry that this recording sucks. I know I wrote it, but I recorded it as soon as I had, so I really wasn't great shakes at playing it yet (how weird...) so I had to layer the vocals over it which was a bit hard.

Hey there. I'm Molly, and this is just my solo experimentation as I try to fumble my way into a musical career. I haven't written and recorded too many original songs, so a lot of these will be covers.Band/artist history
Once upon a time, two young folks with no cultural background parented a small purple child named Molly. This child took up the piano at nine, quit at twelve, and took up the guitar at thirteen. At fourteen, she wrote her first song that she was willing to share with anyone else (read: her first bearable song). The rest is (unrecorded really mundane and uninfluential) history. =DHave you performed in front of an audience?in my house practicing :) i'll play you a show if you live near me. i'd be flattered...
Your musical influences
Gosh...well I listen to a really wide range on music, but a good portion would fall into the category of rock. Plus I like the guitar better than say the spoons, so there's my instrument of choice right there. If you want to see what music I listen to, because it all probably influences me, check out http://www.last.fm/user/mollyllom/
As for artists I'm quite concious of being influenced by in writing songs, just because I had listened to them less or really wish I could write a song like them...I think it would go something like this:
Iron and Wine, Damien Rice, I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business, The Good Life, Bright Eyes, Mae, Say Anything...
I mean, overall I'm influenced by the Beatles, the Police, Ella Fitzgerald, any great jazz singer...and Ms. Nace! But that's basic theory and history for me, instead of specific influences. I can tell you all honestly that when I sit down and write a song I totally try to channel Iron & Wine, but everything else combines to make it not quite a blatant rip-off. I hope. What equipment do you use?
My acoustic guitar is a Takamine Jasmine something or other number. Cheap guitar but I love it to pieces.
My electric guitar which has thus far not made an appearance on any original song of mine is a red Hamer Slammer. Another cheap guitar but I love it. It's cheap in price but I think it plays better than $800 Fenders I've played. But I kinda don't like Fenders...something about the fretboards and the awful feedback :)
I think my way older recordings that have electric guitar could be on my old amp, which is Dean Markley something. Pretty small and lame and simple. Any newer songs with electric guitar would be on my AWESOME AWESOME Line 6 Spider something.
Wow I never realized how unaware I am of the numbers in my gear!
Then I also randomly use other stuff, but I'll note that for a song if it's something besides guitars.Contact
