LESZEK CICHONSKI, award winning blues-rock guitarist based in Wroclaw, Poland, started playing at the age of 12 and is considered one of Poland's best guitar players for over 10 years now. Since 1991 he is a leader of his own band, Guitar Workshop. They have recorded 3 albums: 'Leszek Cichonski & Friends - LIVE' (1996) with some of the top polish musicians and Carlos Johnson from Chicago. 'Thanks Jimi' is his tribute to Jimi Hendrix, featuring Chicago's own Stan Skibby and Anika - a very talented woman from Wroclaw - winning a few prestigious awards from polish music magazines in 2001. Most recent album 'Come Together Live!' with John 'Broadway' Tucker. This band will be palying 2 gigs on Monterey Bay Blues Festival '06. Among Leszek's many projects the most important is the 'Thanks Jimi Festival' within which he will attempt to set Guinness' Guitar Record for the 3rd time; last year there were 1201 guitars playing 'Hey Joe'. Yes I play live mainly in clubs, festivals in Poland and Europe. It is always a special moment plaing at the Thanks Jimi Festival in Wroclaw, Poland.
