In a time when hip hop is seen as gimmicky images, poppy R and B beats and superficial rhymes there is still hope. Mutual Concepts always has and always will keep itself on a level above the norm. We will do so by doing what we've always done - writing conscious lyrics and laying them down on the illest self produced beats.
Band/artist history
K.Cole, AP Concepts and myself are friends from Southern IL. We started out reciting written verses and freestyling in K.Cole's car on "shade routes"-less traveled country roads-late at night after skateboard sessions. K.Cole soon moved to Northern VA where he is originally from and met up with C (Vision). They started layin down track after track and I soon moved out to stay with them. Soon enough AP came to join us. K.Cole and C still live in Northern VA. AP Concepts moved to Asheville, NC and I had the privilege to travel to Gold Coast in Australia for a year. We still manage to lay down tracks together whenever possible. It should also be mentioned that K.Cole's brother BC contributes to production on several ill tracks. There are a total of 5 independent releases from Mutual Concepts including the Pole Shift EP, Clouded Dreams EP, Late Night Insights Vol.One, AP Concepts Vol.One, K. Cole's Auditory Poetics album and I am currently working on a solo venture, The Darker Side of Enlightenment. There are also countless other tracks not included on any project listed above.
