Once upon a time...not so long ago...in a land not too far away, a boy and a girl were visited by the good fairies of rock, who reminded them that it was no fun to write catchy power-pop tunes if there was no band to play them and no audience to catch. Like all things that must be, this band was surely one of them. The boy, being talented at the drums, and the girl, being gifted with the guitar, were only lacking a magical lead guitarist and a steady-rocking bassist to make their dreams come true. Thus, they implored the good fairies of rock to please grant them the missing elements necessary to bring peace and harmony to all the kingdoms of the world.
It came to pass that a long-forgotten squire of the bountiful Land of Pears was delivered unto the boy and girl -- destined for lead guitar supremacy.
An exotic bass maiden, too, from the Land of Pears, was bestowed upon the trio, fullfilling the prophecy set forth by the good fairies of rock.
Thus Leap Day came to be...
Back in the real world, Leap Day self-recorded their debut EP, which was mixed by Los Angeles producer David Eaton (The Polyphonic Spree, Dynamite Hack, Crackout, The Space Twins). The EP, entitled Leap Year, was appropriately released on February 29, 2004. Apart from upcoming June shows in Houston, Leap Day is currently preparing for a summer tour with Baltimore’s Water School.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, we do play live. Where? The greater Houston metro area. Do we like it? Yes, very much. Thanks for asking. Special moments? Hmm... it's always special when people like us.
