Rock General

Every track has been played on the radio & over 650,000 copies of tracks from "A Striking Resemblance" have been distributed ... get it now! The 51st Annual GRAMMY awards, as voted on by THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF RECORDING ARTS & SCIENCES, INC. lists Laurie Larson's "A Striking Resemblance" on the entry ballot for Best Pop Vocal Album & Album Of The Year. "A Striking Resemblance" is featured now in the Relix Magazine CD Sampler with Burning Spear, Joan Osborne & Lucinda Williams! The 10 track CD was produced by Laurie Larson and recorded and mixed by Jim Brady in Tucson, Arizona. Jim Roberts mixed "Artist's Mirage Two" and played Hammond B3 on "Endless Thank You Loop"! Each song was written and arranged by Laurie Larson. Over 500,000 copies of tracks from her previous album "Aquila" were also distributed - Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member Richie Furay ordered the tracks on that album. Special thanks to Dave Carr and WKKM radio for being the first station to play every single track from Aquila on the air! "It's up to you now to become the next bright spot. Keep heading in the direction you are heading and good things will come your way. Best of luck to you Laurie." Regards, Marshall Blonstein

Have you performed in front of an audience?
The highlight was when guitarist Ralph Tate stopped playing lead guitar and let me play the lead on "Red House" on my bass guitar at the El Rey Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Midway though a guy got on the drums and jammed with me, I got a standing ovation. After we were done, the drummer came up to me and said, wow, you play the way we used to in the 60's. All I could say was, hey thanks. A little while later I asked who was that guy on drums? They looked at me like I was a complete idiot, he's the guy from Country Joe and the Fish. Of course he had disappeared once I found out who he was. So that to me was a great compliment.
