Energetic Christian rock band from Northern Kentucky who has a love of worship through their music!Band/artist history
Last Dayâs challenge and their goal is to get everyone, but especially young people involved in worshiping and praising God through music and thereby experiencing God in a whole new way. Another hope of Last Day would be to influence other young musicians to consider sharing their musical talents for the glorification of God instead of turning to secular music.
Last Day was formed in 2001 and as with most bands has seen the normal ebb and flow of band members. The present lineup in Last Day consists of lead guitarist, John Brockmeier with his superb guitar picking skills plus he lends his voice to backing vocals. Matt Jackson is also a skillful guitar player on both acoustic and electric and the bandâs distinctive sound stems from his powerful lead vocals. Then there is our rockinâ bassist, Joe Tabeling. The newest addition to the band is John (JB) Bose, who plays multiple instruments including trombone and harp but will be primarily confining his talents to guitar and keyboard. Last, but certainly not least, supplying the driving beat of the band, is our drummer, Nathan Lubbers.
From their roots as leaders of their churchâs youth group band, the members of Last Day have progressed to exciting crowds throughout the US. In 2005, they self-released a full length CD entitled âAstrayâ with such crowd pleasers as âœEternityâ and âœCirclesâ. In March 2006, they released their most successful project to date, another full length CD entitled âœHappy Mediumâ This album cut through the predictability of modern Christian music with an undoubtedly fresh rock sound and a coinciding spiritual tenderness that showed the young members' yearning for something more than just great music.
In 2008, Last Day released an EP entitled We're Here and in April 2010 they released a new single, Upside Down.
Last Day is not about putting on a concert or show; their mission is to write and perform music that helps lift your heart, mind and soul to God. Wherever possible, they display their lyrics so people can worship right along with them. Their sets are a mix of original songs that touch and challenge the audience to take a step back and look at their lives from a different perspective, and favorite cover songs with which everyone can sing along.Have you performed in front of an audience?Yes, we play live, anywhere people will have us and it is what we live for.
