Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I'm a folkie turned country turned Christian songwriter. Grew up in Nashville and knocked around in a group called "Al's Friends" with Wayne Berry and Judy Elliott. An interesting fact: We turned down a recording offer from RCA's Felton Jarvis (produced Elvis during late 1960's) because we wouldn't do country. Man, we were idealistic back then. Wayne and Judy went on to the West Coast and a contract with Electra and two albums and I went to Viet Nam. My conversion to Christianity led me to get back into music.
