Lady T (336)

My name is LaToya Robertson and I am from Reidsville, NC a small town outside of Greensboro, NC. I write music for local acts and ensembles at the college that I attend in Fayetteville, NC. I also play the bass guitar for the Jazz Ensemble as well as the drums for the pep band. I produce music for numerous acts around North Carolina and Virginia along with compose music for more traditional performance groups and ensembles.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I began producing music for a group in late 2003. It was then that I realized my God given talent; making music.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yes I do play live. I often perform for programs at my college and various churches in Fayetteville and Reidsville. I have one special moment that I recall was in 2006, I was about to perform for a pageant and the MC was informed that a tie breaker was needed before I could perform. When the crowd heard that I could sing then and there, there was an uproar. There was almost a riot. The crowd didn't calm down until I was playing my keyboard and words were coming out of my mouth.
Your musical influences
Some of my main influences are 1950's Doo Wop, earlier rock and roll, R&B and Go Go music. Some of the artists that I enjoy listening to are Prince, Andre 3000, Sam Cooke, Lustra,Babyface, The Fall Out Boys, and Frankie Lymon.
What equipment do you use?
Reason, Acid, Cakewalk, Nuendo, Sonar, Cubase, Roland VS-2000cd, a few condenser mics, and a Radio Shack MD-1700 keyboard
Anything else?
I love ice creme and baked goodies so that is a common motif in my songs :))
