Band/artist history
LADY LYRIC I am originally from Queens, New York and started to write poetry at the age of thirteen. Later on around the age fifteen, I started listening more and more to hip-hop and loved the whole scene. From the wears, to the lyrics, and the artists, this influenced her to flip my poetical skills to the now infamous street poetry known as rap. In addition, I think growing up in South Jamaica Queens aided and further professed my skills. I was the chick with the big earrings, sporting the Timbs, and rolling dice with the fellas. When I was nineteen, I moved to Orlando, Florida. The move was due to several things, family being one of them, and other reasons that I would express better in my rhymes. And if you are from New York or listen to famed rappers who have gone through some struggles, you'd know that it isn't hard to get caught up in bad times. When I moved to Orlando I was not feeling the vibe at all. I felt slowed down. I lived in Queens practically my whole life, only you can tell your version of the fast pace in the city. As time went by I started going to clubs and meeting new people. As a result I met DJ. Prostyle (Heavy Hitters) and DJ Nasty (Big Dawg Pitbulls/Heat Makers/Disturbing The Peace) doing their thing on the ones and twos. On September of 99, my manager, Fidel Cash Flow (Pure Cash Entertainment) came to check out the Florida scene and what Orlando's rap game had to offer. He then started booking shows for me, and I started working hard getting promos out to the radio station known as 102 Jams. One of the first people to play my promos was former radio personality Lizzette Perez, who also played a big part in my growth. Shortly after that I was on 102 Jams being interviewed by Tony C. The interview covered the basics on Lady Lyric and he played a track for all of Orlando to hear titled "Money in my Pocket". I had good feed back from the Orlando scene. Soon after that came into place I was being hit with a lot of mix tape request. I then linked up with DJ Greg G (Big Life/Dessert Storm) who let me get a spot Wednesday nights at club Volcano where I was hosting ladies night during his mix session, as a result to that I met DJ Tony Stone and DJ Jesse Jazz(A-Team Ent/Full Impact Ent) in addition I met O-towns own DJ Slique (MGK)( gonna be da next big name out on da scene ) who has shown me mad love on numerous mix tapes actually one of the only DJ's who has been very consistant with me DA UNDERGROUND KING! Also DJ ADG the chemistry is platinum! Swift Traxx (Assistant to Shady records own DJ Green Lantern) who laced me with killah traxx . So far I have done opening act for OGC and JA-Rule. I have had my share of talent show cases as well as open mic's at the following Orlando clubs; Palladium, The Cypher, Falcon Fire, A.K.A lounge and The Club at Firestone and have rocked the mic in other cities as well. In 2001 I linked up with Willimaze, and the connection was crazy, we have collaborated on many projects with the production of Frank Diggz, who I believe is going to be the next best thing. In addition, Willimaze linked me up with Crown City Music where I am currently putting in work. My mission is to be the first Latin female with a platinum album. My style is very versatile, an up north flow with a dirty south twist. You may catch Lady even slip in some vocals. I am destined to make my mark in hip-hop history.
