La Casa Nostra Records
La Casa Nostra Records is an Italian American owned Record Label and Production company run by two Brothers from the streets New York. Luciano and Don Vito. We have Artists, Models and Hot Tracks for Sale. We call our style Ghetto Spaghetti because we grew up between Brooklyn and Long Island. We lived in an all italian neighborhood in Brooklyn(Bayridge, Bensonhurst) and lived in the Hood quite awhile out in L.I. (Brentwood, C.I.). Our family is multicultural Sicilian and Black mostly though!!! We are not some wannabee thugs or middle class white kids trying to talk slang and be down we're for REAL just being who we really are and people Respect that!!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
For Connected (luciano and Don Vito) we have been rappin together most of our lives, we're brothers. This is what we love doing and now it is time for us to get paid out here just being us and helping other Artists launch their career with La Casa Nostra. Luciano is a Talented Producer and Recording Engineer with a Degree from A.R.T.I in Islandia NY and has worked at many Top Studios in NYC. Like The Cutting Room, Quad Recording and The Hit Factory.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We do play live mostly in NY, different clubs because thats who supported us so long and thats where we are really from. You have to start at home(NY)in the prescence of your own people and work your way out.... right?
Your musical influences
We have so many different influences on the Production side of things because we listen to everything from 50cent to Frank Sinatra to Metallica to Pavoritti to Al Green. On the lyrical side of things we respect Artists like Jay-Z, Eminem,NAS,Biggie for their skillz, We like artists like Tupac, Scarface and DMX because they got alot of heart like us and stay connected to the streets. We are also influenced by those who are running their own like Russell Simmons, guys who built an Empire and give back to their community. Good Fellas for Real, You know what we're talkin Bout!!!
What equipment do you use?
We use the some hot gear in our Studio always and keep different gear in rotation. MPC4000, Motif, Novation K Station, E-mu proteus 2000 with all the Roms, Alesis QSR, Reason 2.5, E-mu Audity 2000, SP1200, Technics Sl-1200,Triton, ASR-X Roland XV5050 and lots of Records and Sound libraries. Most of which we make ourselves and have for sale, Hot Ass Drum kits for your MPC!!!We also use a Mac G4 dual processor, Digital Performer 3 and 4, Mackie UAD-1 classic analog plug ins, WAVES Gold bundle, TC Plug ins, Mackie control, Focusrite Twintrack pro, DBX compressor/gates and so much more.
