Kumar Ullal
I am a great fan of Kishore Kumar. He is my idol. Simply because of his versatility and innovations in singing. He has no formal training in singing, that
alone speaks volumes of the genius. I was a kid in the 70s and early 80s. Therefore naturally I have not heard a lot of other great singers like K.L. Saigal, However, I have heard a lot of Talat Mehmood songs, and I really find him the man with the golden voice. The obvious vibrato that is has on every note makes him unique. He has such delicate voice that it is pleasant to listen to him. Though I have tried singing some of his songs, but found it very difficult.
I think Rafi saab was a phenomenon in Indian playback signing. He was the one to bring about the subtle softness to singing (That has become a norm today in playback singing)
Mukesh and Mannadey have their own niche and very difficult to replace them. Mehendra Kapoor is one singer who can really go extremely high on notes and hold it too. Rarely will you find someone going that high on notes. He has sung some of the most memo0rable songs.
I have tried to sing songs sung by all of the above singers, however, my main insperation has always been Kishore Kumar.
I try and sing Kishore Kumar songs most of the time.
I hope you like some of the songs that I have sung.
