Kratz mixes the sophisticated style of progressive rock with the inspirational and spiritual elements from Christian and Worship Music. The music also draws from influences in Jazz, Gospel and Classic Rock.
Kratz's Music has been compared to Jars of Clay, U2, and Coldplay.Band/artist history
Zak Kratzer plays electric guitar for many different bands of different styles. He started in the now defunct Insidious 2003-2005.
In 2004 Kratz branched out from Insidious with some solo work and started recording a demo in his bedroom.
Kratz went to college at Eastern Kentucky University in 2005 where he joined Why We Can't Have Nice Things a worship band from 2006 to 2008 and The City Limits 2007 to Present. All the While still working on the solo project that started 4 years ago in a humble suburban basement.
In 2007 the current version of Kratz came together out of some students who were also interested in music and it just sort of fell in place. Kratz played their very first concert with Martin Perkins, The City Limits, Decking Ceasar and the Headliner: Live Fish.
This Fall Kratz will be leading worship at the BCM.Have you performed in front of an audience? We've pretty much only played in Richmond but By myself I have played in Cincinnati. And with other groups I have played guitar in Pigeon Forge, Chatanooga and I have played various youth events around kentucky.
Starting in August, Kratz will be leading worship at the Baptist Campus Ministries he is a part of at Eastern Kentucky University.
