We are the Band KOUMPAROI!!!Welcome to our Page!
We are a teenage band from Greece and we are playing basically traditional songs of our country but when we are in the mood for doing crazy things,we mix traditional music and instruments with other songs (mostly beats)and we have lot's of fun.We are only two persons but we count for 100!!!My name is George and my friend's name is Sokratis (like the philosopher).I play the guitar, the gainta (or tsampouna it is a greek instrument), the greek flute and staff and Sokratis plays all the other noisy things, like the drums, the ntaouli, toumperleki and he is the one who prepares and modifies the beats. We are a bit crazy about the greek tradition.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
We started playing simply music together with Sokratis last summer.At the end of the same summer we were invited in our first concert.In 2005 we played on a T.V. channel specified to the greek tradition.Now we are well known in our city (Katerini) but we are too young to have a history...Our history is still being written.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play live in folk concerts in Greece and abroad.
