'Kolo Productions specializes in Dancehall music. It is the brainchild of Okolo Callender. Okolo was born on the island of Barbados to famed Barbadian writer, the late Timothy Callender. Growing up, computers and music were his two greatest passions. At the age of fifteen, Okolo joined a band and quickly learned to play rhythm guitar. He soon gravitated toward the "Riddim Box", and then to computer based production. Okolo was influenced by dancehall greats such as Shabba Ranks, Buju Banton, Cutty Ranks, Supa Cat and Beenie Man. He also enjoyed techno, soca, Hip Hop and rock music. This has led to a musical style that blends many genres, yet keeps the essence of dancehall alive. While living in St. Kitts, He joined up with Kareem Roberts and a group of close friends to form SoundCore Entertainment. The goal was to bring talented artists and producers together. During that time, they produced music at the top of the local charts. Okolo began collaborating with a gifted artist by the name of Bamboo B. He went on produce six tracks on Bamboo B's debut album "The Man From Zion" which was released in 2005. Through SoundCore, Bamboo B has performed at the annual St. Kitts Music Festival to rave reviews. Okolo's passion for computers led him to a career in engineering which has brought him to the heart of Reggae / Dancehall: Jamaica. Now living in Kingston, Okolo brings his life long love of Dancehall music to the place where it all started.
