Koan (BE)
Koan is part of the fresh wave of post-rock and hardcore situated in the HdS-scene en Belgium. Started in 2004, Koan released their first promo-demo counting 7 in-your-face-rock tracks. At that time, the lineup was: Tom on drums, Joris on guitar and vocals, and Laurens on rythm guitar. This demo contains some never heard Koan-songs and is no longer available for sale.
In March 2005, the band found a bass player. Jesse took care of the bass-lines from that point on. As the band members grew older, their music became darker and more emotional. In August 2006, Koan recorded a new demo-ep containing 5 songs, bringing their new sound to the masses. The demo (called: Under a Bad Sign) is the new highlight in the Koan-history and features the 2 instrumental hit-songs "One Last Sunset" and the live-killer "Under a Bad Sign".
The release of the UaBS demo opened new doors for Koan and they are playing some shows this fall.
