We are adventurers, searching for the promised land -- crystal clear rivers, fresh breeze of caressing wind blowing onto plush green pastures. We started young, traveled early to avoid the pressure of waking eyes that stare like we’re spoiled meat butchered days before we were even sold. Hovering over the pestering licks of hot flaming tongues trying to have a taste of our merely half-cooked bodies.
We bravely stand in line, in front of a squad of soldiers holding plastic toy guns tickling us with 24 carat gold pellets until our funny bones break in such pleasure. We bathe in the novelty of melted candy éclairs but dry ourselves under the fierce heat of the sun of truth. We are crowned and caped, dressed in royal blue silk robes, red suede chucks and green velvet underwear but whipped on our backs with electrifying cords and cables. Juggling us like wine bottles and pour our sweat and blood into 2 ounce shot glasses offered on the bar as liquor to senior citizens.
We are made to believe we are gods but yet in reality we are puny christs. Saviors crucified on metal posts. People passing us like we were mere ornaments on main streets. Mocking us, assuming that’s all we can do.

Kneel on Nails' Biography
The smell of 11 p.m. is Kneel on Nails' first independently
released EP. Entitled by the drummer, John Gonzales after
experiencing a very despicable smell one unfortunate night. It
contains 5 systematic tacks that were written by the band since they
were just in their 2nd year of studying in high school. Fusing the
elements of rock, alternative, pop, hardcore and funk, people can
merely apprise exactly what type of music they're going to gain from
this Novaliches (Quezon City, Philippines) based band.
The earliest members (GJ Ang, Neil Cabawatan, John Gonzales and Alex
Marcelino) began performing together in October 2002. Ariel Lumanlan,
their 2nd guitarist adjoined the quartet when the EP was then,
currently recorded.
As far as playing in a band is concerned, the members each performed
in distinct groups back when they were as young as 11 years old.
Excluding Alex (who was a guitarist) and John who were then, in a
similar band. Neil was their schoolmate and played bass that time.
The 3 decided to hook-up having Neil doing the vocal chores, along
with Alex and John's bassist and took the band as a hobby; because
their foremost bands had just existed whenever a competition was held
their school. The 4 members made original songs as well as covered
from their influences. They played in some bars around their city-
under-aged.
Resembling most bands, members of the band stayed and others
departed. And in the succession, Alex became a bass player; after
discovering the enjoyment of manipulating the cited instrument.
A period came also when the 3 original members of the "on-and-
off band" (Alex, John and Neil), didn't even had a single guitar
player. So, they turned to a reliable friend to help them find a
stable 1 and fortunately, Ang was ready. The surviving members tested
his skills for a number of practices. It turned out perfectly after,
because they all had an ideal chemistry with each other. And needless
to say, Ang got the position, permanently.
When the "final band" was at their first gig together, they
needed a name for the group. John, again, fancied a name actively,
Neil on Nails. But the vocalist objected. He didn't want others to
picture that He longed for the glory this band is going receive
because of the somewhat-selfish name. And when John ran out of ideas,
he just modified "Neil" into "Kneel" so that others will mistakenly
think that it is the vocalist who's on nails and because the words
are also homonyms. The quartet chose to settle for "Kneel on Nails"
after numerous performances in distinct places.
Ariel's story was also similar to Ang's. Except, his former
band broke up. When a dependable friend of Kneel on Nails found this,
he presented Ariel immediately. The clever guitarist quickly learned
the songs and added a more melodramatic sense into the young band's
symphony.
Kneel on Nails still remains simple despite the inaccurate
accusations some people utter to them; comparing their music to the
local mainstream copycat-bands in their country. False accusations
identical to these won't ever ruin the enduring bond between the
quintet. Especially when they mean like family to each other. They
are ready for anything.Have you performed in front of an audience?YEAH! kahit san... pwede kontak us lang
