Description: It's been a long journey for Claudian Lemons aka Klear J who has been singing since two and rapping since eight years old. Known as Big Claude aka The Lil' Biggie Smallz to some of his peers, Klear J was born in the imfamous city of Decatur, GA. where he discover rap when first hearing Kriss Kross' "Jump" blowing up the airways. From that moment he knew what he wanted to do for a living. At the age of 10, his family moved to the small town of Eufaula, AL, where he gained his close friend and 'partner in crime' Marcus "Mastermeezy" Thomas. Together they single handily formed the Hip-Hop scene in Eufaula. Now he is known as 'The Best out of Barbour County.' He earned the title from battling individuals and crews throughout Barbour County. With the release of his new album, entitled "All Towards Money" after his own record label, he intends to prove that his is just what he was titled: "The Best out of Barbour County."
Band/artist history
In 1997, ATM was started as a hip-hop label only by CEO, Claudian Lemons, and Co-CEO/Founder Marcus Thomas. Claudian Lemons aka Klear J was the first artist to record on the label and Marcus Thomas aka Mastermeezy was head producer. In 1999, ATM Records released their first EP album "Klear J: Give Ya' Whutcha' Like" to the public. In just Eufaula, AL, it sold an amazing 210 copies. Most of those copies were on the streets and out of the schoolhalls. To improve their much successful venture, they signed their second act. Two brothers from Eufaula that called themselves The Fro$t Boys. The two brothers began to produce music and write songs along with Klear J. They decide to come up with a trio group by the name of The Embassy. Around the same time The Embassy was working on their new album and get their single promoted, The Fro$t Boys brought one of the youngest member of ATM Records to Klear J's and Mastermeezy's attention. T-Money proved himself to the CEO's who immediately started to record his debut album. In 2002, after the incredible sales of The Embassy single (which sold 310 copies), "The Beginning of A Never End, " T-Money's EP album was released. The sales from T-Money album, which was written and produced by T-Money himself, exceeded sales of both The Embassy and Klear J's albums. It sold an unexpected 350 copies off the streets and another 200 copies in the schoolhalls. By 2003, ATM Records was successful in all of the venture albums. But, when things are going up, there are always things that will try to bring you down. Disputes between Klear J and The Fro$t Boys ceased the continuing of The Embassy. This beef between the two acts caused confusion and angry from ATM Fans, which turn this dispute into what many called The Beef that Shocked Eufaula. In the same year, T-Money introduced the Diamond Cutts to ATM's CEO's. This venture not only resolved ATM's situation, but also improved the Fan Base. Diamond Cutts, which included AP, BP, KP, Fat Boy and some of the ATM Family, immediately start to record their debut with ATM Records which was a major response to the beef between ATM Records and The Fro$t Boys. In the first week, just on the streets of Eufaula, the album sold 205 copies. The album continues to sale in other areas. In Conclusion, ATM Records Music Group has now formed into just that. We now record R & B, Gospel and have dassled in some Rock. We are still the number one record label out of Eufaula and out southeastern Alabama. We are running things and this won't stop.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yeah, (me and my crew)play live as much as we can. We even throw our own parties and events to promote us. It's fun being on stage and a lot of people in front of you like 'Go Shawty.' It is extreme. One of my special moments is when I performed in Anniston, AL for just a crowd of about 30. In the crowd was a well known local producer and after the show him and his folk told me that I was the best they had ever heard (out of Alabama).
