Kiskeya's from Haiti, a country deeply rooted in vatious types of music that are clearly displayed through his style. Just like every Haitian, he grew up listening to Zouk & Kompa. Those two similar genres of music draw their power from the rich heritage of Africa and the Carribean, where every song is either about having fun or being in love. The word "Zouk" itself means "Party" in Creole. Zouk is seductive, that is why it is sometimes referred to as "Zouk Love". Many Kompa artists use their music to be a vital outlet in the political struggle of their country. Kiskeya tries his best to incorporate those same thoughts and feelings into his productions. He doesn't take himself or his music too seriously and tries his best to just have fun; he demands that same mentality with anyone who is associated with his company. In his ever ending effort to sound differently, Kiskeya usually plays various instruments in his recordings, he went to school for music production and learned how to play the drums, electric, acoustic, bass guitar, and the piano. He often employs various musicians to play those same instruments for an added spice to the mix. He also partnered with numerous producers from different musical backgrounds to ensure a unique collection of tracks for his upcoming project, entitled: "Kiskeya Presents: The reanimation Of Music" now in stores.
Stay tune.
