I heard the "Southern Wind" song right after I joined The Kirk Dillen Band back in Febuary of 2004. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it, and it's been my favorite evey since. Just a simple message with a beautiful melody that Kirk sings and plays his heart out on. I hope Kirk decides to put this song back into his show as an every night grand finale.

I have probably heard this song more than anyone else with the exception of Kirk, Since I have been with the band and Kirk, this is the one song that I can hear night after night and never get tired of, it is probably the best he has ever written, this recording is good, but nothing compares to hearing Kirk sing this one live. I hope he puts it back in his show soon.

The first time I heard this song was in 1986 soon after Kirk had written it. I loved it then, and I love it still. I feel honored to have been one of the voices behind Kirk on this recording. And one of the musicians in the band.
One of the old die-hard, insane Southern Wind fans here (and a Kirk fan, of course). I have yards and yards of video of Southern Wind performing all over Dallas in the early 1990's (anyone remember Borrowed Money???). Oh, how I love the song, "Southern Wind." Thank God, one of the band members gave me several Southern Wind cassettes, so I can still go back and hear my all-time favorite band, and Kirk's beautiful voice! I had no idea Kirk had gone solo, so when I found this site I was thrilled!!!
