Kirk Dillen
As a native Texan, Kirk's roots are rich in Southern charm and culture. His life has lead him all over north and east Texas, from Beaumont to Dallas and several spots in between. He currently resides in Denton where he's raising his own family. While Kirk shares in the responsibilities that comes from rearing his two sons, he also likes to play a round of golf now and then or casting out a fishing line. But chances are, you're more likely to find him at a Little League baseball game or on a school fieldtrip than on a golf course or a fishing hole!
Kirk's career has also lead him from here to there and every point in between. While originally a rock 'n roller (he's a die-hard Boston and Eagle's fan), he was soon swayed to country music after attending a Steve Wariner concert. He and four other musicians, collectively called, Southern Wind, "banded" together to become one of the southwest's premier nightclub and college performing groups during the late 80's and early 90's. While touring all over America, they not only performed with such renowned artist's as Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Alabama, and Alan Jackson, but they also received national recognition from the National Association of Campus Activities as Country Music Entertainer of the Year for three consecutive years. But, as fate would have it, the band split up and went different directions.
After a brief "leave-of-absence" from the music industry (he actually returned to college and earned a degree in Hospitality Management), Kirk once again took to the stage but as a solo act. He currently tours the southwest and you can hear him perform at nightclubs, honky-tonks, state fairs, and private parties. His strong vocal abilities mixed with a generous assortment of music styles has these venues packed.
Thanks to his talent and popularity, he once again is an award winner! Kirk was recently named, "Male Vocalist of the Year" at the Dallas area 2003 Terry Awards and his debut CD, "A Little at a Time," won "Album of the Year!" While winning at the Terry Awards was a tremendous honor, Kirk hopes to achieve these same awards at the CMA's in the not-so-distant-future!Band/artist history

ANNA MARIE BURDENI really like your work...When you get a chance, check out my page, Let me know what your favorite tracks are...Great work...Keep it up, if you get a chance, check out my page, Let me know if you like the songs Come With Me and JourneyI heard the "Southern Wind" song right after I joined The Kirk Dillen Band back in Febuary of 2004. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it, and it's been my favorite evey since. Just a simple message with a beautiful melody that Kirk sings and plays his heart out on. I hope Kirk decides to put this song back into his show as an every night grand finale. All comments (9)

One of the old die-hard, insane Southern Wind fans here (and a Kirk fan, of course). I have yards and yards of video of Southern Wind performing all over Dallas in the early 1990's (anyone remember Borrowed Money???). Oh, how I love the song, "Southern Wind." Thank God, one of the band members gave me several Southern Wind cassettes, so I can still go back and hear my all-time favorite band, and Kirk's beautiful voice! I had no idea Kirk had gone solo, so when I found this site I was thrilled!!!
