Kip Dresser
Hi, I'm Kip. I've played the guitar for a long time and I'm pretty sure I'm OK at it. Not so great a singer, but working on it.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I'm forty and have been playing the guitar since I was a teenager. Lots of different styles, lots of different bands. I basically try not to suck.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Play with my band "Curly Fingers DuPree" at least 2-3 times a month. I host an acoustic open mic every Thursday night at the Second Street Sports Bar in Turners Falls, Ma. I love to play live, I'm most comfortable on stage, with a guitar.
Your musical influences
John Hiatt, Pete Townshend, Warren Zevon, Warren Haynes
What equipment do you use?
Hamer, Fender, ibanez, Yamaha, Seagull guitars, Fender amps, lots of pedals and stuff.
Anything else?
I don't neccessarily advocate alcohol consumption as a rule, but I am certain I play better after a couple of cocktails.
