King Wes

Many are called but few are Chosen
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
King Wes King Wes was born on July 8, 1978 in Birmingham, Alabama to Willie Tate and Sylvia White. By the age of 15 when most teenagers are going on their first dates and thinking about what they want to be in life this young teen was a member of the Bloods, a deadly street gang centered in the Cooper Green Projects. Living a life full of gang banging, robbing, and selling drugs led him to being shot twice once at the age of sixteen and again at the age of twenty. Knowing God had a call on his life but not knowing how to submit the Lord led him to meet up with a beautiful woman who was also seeking God. King Wes committed his life to the lord at the age of twenty-four and married the woman of his dreams Terlyn Tate. King Wes than dove head first into fellowship, joining the Christ Temple Deliverance Church were his mother had been a member for years. Here he learned his first hard lesson as a Christian, that you are to seek God and not religion. After being at this church awhile he began to notice that it was more about money and prosperity than saving the dying souls that were right outside the church door. When he brought the subject of saving souls up to the head of the house he was told that people liked the way they were living and didn't want to hear anything about God. So after a heated discussion the Bishop told King Wes that no one would listen to Wesley because of the way he looked and he was kicked out of the church. King Wes was hurt deeply because not only did the pastor kick him out of church but he made it his personal mission to try to destroy him. So for over a year Wesley and his wife had to endure persecution and lies but it all worked out for his good because through the Holy Spirit and the teaching ministry of Dr. Fredrick K.C. Pricehe was led to Faith Chapel Christian Center in Birmingham, where he is taught how to live a successful Christian life. Starting in Holy Hip Hop in the fall of 2004 as Radio Announcer on W.L.P.H. Radio in Birmingham, Alabama, the King knew his time had come to live out a dream that was birthed while still in the world. In January of 2005 King Wes recorded his first Song Switched It Up. After a lot of good reviews the fire was ignited and he realized his calling as a minister of rap. Through Holy Hip Hop King Wes will reach all those lost souls who live just like he used to and show them that the love of Jesus is real and it can change your whole life.
