Bio-King Legit King Legit began his career in 1986 as a member of the Dev. III crew. After their first independent release, The Dev. III Is In The House, which sold approximately 10,000 units, the group began performing at local venues in and around New York and Washington DC. Following a show in the summer of 1988, King Legit was approached by Run DMCs dj, Jam Master Jay. After months in the studio, and performances on the road with the legendary rap trio, King Legit released his first solo album in May of 1990 entitled Enter The Kingdom. The album was released on Sire Records, a subsidiary label for Warner Bros. Records. The album went on to sell 150,000 units worldwide. After the release of his second solo album in 1991 entitled I Am The King he began to record again with his group the Dev. III. Their second album Together Again, also released independently, sold another 15,000 units. It was during this time that King Legit formed his record label, KingDom Records International. With help from his mentor, Jam Master Jay, the Dev. III quickly grew into the Royal Court Family, growing to over 50 members. By 1993, Kingdom Records International had become one of the top hip-hop labels in the industry for underground hip-hop music. In 1996 King Legit released his third solo album, Exit The King on his own label. This release by far was his best album claiming him Golden Status with 529,000 units sold worldwide. And now 12 years later he is back with his newest release, Return To The Throne.
