Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Kim Keith is a 21-year-old senior Biology Major at Christopher Newport University. She has spent a lot of her life in Newport News, VA and received most of her voice training in award-winning choirs throughout high school, as well as with the prestigious CNU Chamber Choir. Kim was one of the lead vocalists in a popular high school band, “Plagal Collage,” and has performed in various praise and worship bands all over the country, as well as in Panama and Mexico. Also heavily involved with spoken word poetry, Kim has performed in many poetry slams hosted by the poetry club at CNU, “Vibes of our Vernacular,” and jumps at the chance to speak her powerful messages in any setting. She currently hopes to pursue a career in forensic chemistry, but keeps music and poetry as top priorities, stating that writing and singing “remind her of the important things in life.” Her smooth and sultry vocals soothe you with overtones that remind you of Norah Jones, while her attitude can range anywhere from Alanis to Christina, and the messages in her poetry reveal a life of hard-learned lessons and strength beyond her years. Singing and speaking in a genre all her own, Kim is anxious to share her music and poetry with all who are willing to listen.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I haven't played live for my new songs. We're still working on my album. But when the dates come up, you'll be the first to know. I am also heavily involved with spoken word poetry, I have performed in many poetry slams hosted by the poetry club at CNU, “Vibes of our Vernacular,” and will jump at the chance to speak my powerful messages in any setting.

A little taste of Norah Jones and Dido...I'm influenced by all styles of music.

I just know we recorded on ProTools. My producer has the info on what equipment
