I'm a Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter and bass player and a fixture on the local coffeehouse and singer/songwriter showcase circuit. I also regularly bring my music as a healing force to those confined to rest homes, hospitals and halfway houses. . "I have a Ph.D.in pain and I understand the soul of the broken-hearted. I write and play from a place deep inside and express emotions through my new bad-ass acoustic guitar! It's essential to move beyond the pains of life and elevate your thoughts - and music has the power to miraculously elevate one's state of mind."Band/artist history
I started off in Ohio-based prog rock outfit Citadel, a power trio influenced by Rush, Yes and Styx. Citadel rose to regional fame before heading out to California in a converted panty hose truck. We left the words "Sheer Energy" on the back. The group sold an impressive 40,000 units of their LP before disbanding. I played in a number of L.A.rock outfits before opting for a solo career.Have you performed in front of an audience?I play live at coffeehouses at least once a week, places like Hallenbeck's,and at St. Joseph's Hospital I play my guitar at patient's bedside. It's truly one of the most rewarding experiences I've ever had musically. People light up like they are getting a private performance from an angel. One patient could only tap his heart with his hands as a tear fall from his eye. I joined in as it was emotionally overwhelming. I also do full band shows at The Cat Club, Blue Saloon, Chillers, Luna Park, and various clubs and festivals in L.A. Funny moments: When I introduced a song by saying, "Here's my you broke my asshole song" instead of "you broke my heart you asshole song."
Your musical influences
Many female acoustic balladeers, much classic and prog rock, storytellersWhat equipment do you use?
I have a 6-string hand made Larravie acoustic guitar running it through a Fender amp and a Fender Bass that I run through an SWR Workingman bass amp. I also own several guitars, including a hand made electric Fender Telecaster with my name ingraved on it and a Sennheiser headless bass just to flop around with me to sit in a local jam somewhere. I also have many special fx units and pedals for ambient sounds.Anything else?
!) I also host a very successful Songwriter's Circle wherein I promote and feature local talent who play their best 3 songs to industry reps at local happenin' clubs in L.A. This is a very fun-filled, grass roots type event where you hear such good much in one night, it brings you back to the love you had for music when you first discovered it. Plus, its such a supportive environment between musicians, not typical of the L.A. scene. The next one is tentatively scheduled for Friday, September 15th at the Cat Club. Stay tuned for roster of talent.
