Kikey Baby, better know as Kikey, is a young rapper/producer/writer.
He was born in Tangier, a city in Morocco, where he lived for 17 years. Kikey started to rap at the age of 8 and some believe that he started to rap before he could even speak Real talk! The thing about Kikey is that his first language is French and he attended a French school throughout his adolescent life. French was the only language Kikey spoke or even understood back then. This was about to change when Kikey decided to approach life with a fond interest in rap (US Rap) music. During his early days, Kikey did not understand English, so he had difficulties trying to understand the messages portrayed through rap music. A good melody and a good flow was enough.
At the age of 13, Kikey was able to build up a fan base and find a way for people to listen to his songs. He gained momentous support in his home town of Tangier, and found great opportunities to perform at local birthday parties. Kikey Baby's first stage performance was at the age of 16. Kikey found that performing on stage created a lustrous thirst for more it changed him. Unsatisfied with his limited performances, Kikey started rapping live at all the school parties and at any others parties within his city... and nation. This is also the time when he discovered that he could profit from his success by selling mixtapes.
But since then a lot of things have changed.
In 2007, at the age of seventeen, Kikey was forced to move from Morocco to Llandudno, a small town in north Wales(U.K.). He was alone. There wasn't a lot of things to do, and because Kikey sees himself as a "city boy," he took this opportunity to work harder on his music. Kikey Baby invested in a home studio, where he would record, write, produce, and mix his songs throughout the lengthy days and the endless nights. He would write, produce, and work on his music almost every day trying to make it as an artist. Kikey also used to sell instrumentals but decided that he would prefer to keep them for his own songs. Kikey is unique in his production style. He has hundreds of instrumentals, and can produce any type of music from hip hop to R&B, acoustic passing by snap, crunk or rock. Needless to say, his specialty is Hip Hop
Today, Kikey is studying (Music Business Diploma) at S.A.E. Institute of London(U.K.) for an academic year. Kikey Baby has bigger plans for the future he will move to Atlanta soon to create his own music label! So don't be surprised to hear about him in a few years!
As an upcoming artist, Kikey Baby has been through many experiences and seen things that many rappers haven't been able to experience. This is the type of inspiration Kikey works with. He has traveled a lot, seen many faces and places and he is only 19! Although this may be the case, Kikey knows that there is still a lot more for him to see, and his is passionately hungry for that!
His culture and differences are one of a kind!
