Kezzel
I'm a solo bassit who loves to just get out in front of people and play. I'm part of a few bands, but they have their own sites, I'd like to try and put my solo work out there, and for ya'll who really love music to tell me what you think, and give me some constructive criticism. Rather than trying to be the next Victor Wooten or Jaco Pastorius, I want to see what ya'll think I should work on, so I can be a talented bass by my own name someday (hopefully).
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I started playing bass in September of 2002 because a friend needed a bassist for his punk band. Ever since then I've been playing everyday, studying the work of Victor Wooten, Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, and Flea (of course, haha) and trying to make myself a quick, precise, and funky player.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I love to play live, and usually open for any bands my friends have. I sometimes play at a jazz club in the area, as well. One time, I got a standing ovation for finger-picking (banjo style) a song on the higher strings of my 7-string bass.
Your musical influences
Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten, Flea, Marcus Miller, Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne), Shavo Odadjian, Ray Brown, Les Claypool, Ron Carter.
What equipment do you use?
I don't really play that type of music, but I'd just make sure to have tone and bass/mid up.
Anything else?
Hmmmmm, well, I have three basses, and a SWR Workingman's stack (1x15,4x10,4004 head) and I use DR Strings with Bartolini pick-ups.
