Keys Crescent
Keys Crescent was formed in Cincinnati, OH in 2003. We have very eclectic tastes in music. We try to play as many different styles as possible. Our music always includes guitar, drums, and bass. We now include organ, violin, harmonica, and of course vocals. All four of our members our capable of holding a melody while playing their instuments which makes for great four part harmonies on our albumn and at live show.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Keys Crescent formed the summer of 2003. The band members included Matt Metz on drums, Pat Ryan on lead guitar, Matt Moore on rhythm guitar, John Kelley on Bass and Colin Ryan with the lead vocals. After summer ended however John Kelley was going away to college at George Washington University in Washington D.C. A replacement bass player was needed. The Band decided to call upon Drew Metz, Matt's older brother. So, the Metz Brothers now made up the Keys Crescent's rhythm section. Drew had played with his brother and Pat in different bands since the summer of 1999, so he fit well with their style. Shortly after Drew joined up Colin decided he wanted to move on with his solo project, so he did. Matt Moore then stepped to the forefront and took on the Lead Vocalist role. All four of the remaining band members had gone to grade school together at Mercy Montessori in East Walnut Hills. This long time friendship between the band members shows in their excellent chemistry and fun stage presence.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Mostly at York Street Cafe in Newport, KY but occasionally the Mad Frog in Cincinnati, OH. Looking for shows farther from Cincinnati coming up in the 2005-2006 school year.
