Kev Parsons
Well.... just me, Kev. Been playing electric guitar (or trying) for around about 7/8 jahre now. I reside in Bristol, in the UK which is a great place to live; good night scene and plenty of music shops! I was born in Southampton, but didn't live there long, so sadly i am not a Bristolian all the way, just about 16 years worth OOO ARR :P. I attend uni in Bristol, doing a joint honours in Business & Computing Bsc, which is a great learning experience besides all the *u@/in' work. haha.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?

What equipment do you use?
Now for the interesting part, the guitar stuff! I currently own 5 guitars starting with my very 1st 'Starforce USA' which i got as my very first guitar from my parents when starting out. Working the way up, I got hold of a Fender standard Strat (MIM) in white, hot rodded with seymour duncan alnico pro and hot rails puppies. Then theres a rather nice Yamaha acoustic with a pretty sweet re-strung tone. After these toys, we get onto the big guns. After i felt the need for shred, i managed to get hold of an Ibanez rg2570EX. This is my main guitar, modded with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge, and a Dimarzio Breed in the neck. This one really wails! Finally, the holy grail at the moment is the Classic Floyd Rose Super Strat (MIA). This one has the sweetest guitar tone that i've ever heard, and just feels amazing. Thats all the guitars for now... but im sure there'll be more on the way :D.
As for the live sound, i play through a stack, manufactured by Peavey amps (the 5150) and use marshall to provide means of crunching it out through speakers. Currently, i mic up one of the 12" with two Shure SM57's, one on axis, the other at 45 degrees to the cone. This technqiue was adopted by Fredrick Nordstrom (who produced the Inflames albums) and I later discovered it was used by Bob Rock on Metallica's Black album. Aside from micing technqiues, the XLR's snap straight into my PC soundcard through built in preamps. The card is manufactured by M-Audio and is a 1010lt. This is all fed into Steinburg's Nuendo 2 for all the recording and mixing, and then it all comes out through your speakers!!!
Anything else?
hmm... if you see me in a bar i'll buy you a beer? haha.
